DURATION OF EFFECT
MEDITOXIN Botulinum Toxin 200U duration of effect will depend on varying factors such as the type of condition treated, the location area it was injected into, and the quantity of botulinum toxin used. Technically, initial effects may be seen as early as 1 to 2 days after injection and can reach their peak at 1~2 weeks post-treatment. Then, clinical improvement is displayed and can last for approximately 3 to 4 months. Also, the treatment procedure with Meditoxin Botulinum Toxin can be repeated no sooner than 12 weeks. However, frequent Botulinum Toxin injection is not advisable as tolerance to the medicine may be acquired.
PACKAGING AND SPECIFICATIONS
Packaging: MEDITOXIN is available in 50, 100, and 200 units of a powder for injection vials (1vial/box)
Product appearance: Meditoxin appears as a freeze-dried white powder for injection in a colorless transparent vial.
Reconstitution: Dissolve MEDITOXIN 200U in 0.9% Sodium Chloride injection and then, gently mix by rotating the vial. It should be administered within 24 hours after reconstitution.
Method of administration: Intramuscular injection
Recommended usage: The exact dosage and number of injections in each site must be tailored according to each patient based on the size, number, and location of the muscles involved and the severity of the condition. Generally, an injection volume of approximately 0.05mL – 0.1mL per site is recommended and may increase according to the location of injection. A maximum total dose must not exceed 200U per patient at a time.
Treatment interval: Intervals between treatments should be no sooner than 12 weeks.
Needle size: 24~30G
Storage: Unopened vial can be stored at room temperature (<25°C). After reconstitution, the product can be stored for 24 hours in the refrigerator (2-8°C).
